Well, I finally got around to deleting all the “spammer like” identities if you were deleted sorry as there were so many I basically got rid of all that I hadn’t assigned to a post on the site.

In the next few days I plan to start reviewing some devices and software that I use on the truck. It is my hope to do so with video as well as pictures and text hopefully most video will be focused on the topic and not me as nobody wants to see this ugly old trucker, but hopefully the reviews will contain info that is useful to truckers and R.V.er’s and a few tech savvy travelers so check back.

Hey readers I am now sitting out front of the kenworth dealership waiting for them to open in the morning just had rice and chili dish made in the truck and am waiting for the next episode of one of my favorite shows to finish buffereing on netflicks using the weak signal I get from their wifi I have had a code 288-7 for weeks now on my Cat engine but the last repair made my odometer invalid its still showing the exact same milage as the last repair the last shop said they didn’t do it and a shop owned by them said that nothing is wrong but all my dash guages are non functional but the code I am getting is warranteed according to the mileage that was displayed on the odometer not the cat computer so I guess I get to find out if that’s true in the morning wish me luck

well site went down for a few days but its all paid up now hope to start posting again regularly a note to spammers I have filters in play on site and I get notifications of new subscribers to the site there are so many now that I will be checking the subscriber list on my next major break and culling all the likely spammer names so you that really want to see what I post and get updates please send a note to the admin on site as a comment to this post that will let me know you are real and not somebody who wants to mess things up for the site

Little bit of catch up

Well, been off here a little while, so much for my plans to try and update daily. Been to New England a couple times since last post. Should be delivering a load tomorrow from up there; hours are running short so not sure how things will work out over the next couple of days.

Trying to hold off on a restart until I get to Corpus Christi, Tx. I have a lot to do there this time. My DOT physical is due this month and I wanted to return to the last place that I used for it to make things easier. My niece will be joining me for a short time when I get there. To give her and her mom a break I am taking her to my wife for a while that way my sister and my wife can supervise her while her mom goes through some difficult times. This will give her mom the freedom and the relief from stress so she can concentrate on the things she has to deal with without having to worry about what’s going on with her teenage daughter. Not that my niece is particularly difficult, its just a mess down there and worry about her daughter isn’t making it any easier. While she is with me we will probably be posting daily and sharing the best of the pictures she takes while I drive. I will wait to reveal her identity until she is on the truck and wants it done. Even then I wont reveal all as she will be dealing enough with the changes and doesn’t need any other problems. I may possibly be setting up a sub domain wordpress for her though if she wants it so she can journal how things are going for her mom to be able to read. Again something to discuss with her. So be on the look out for a link if I do. Some may think I am biased but she is very intelligent and if she does do one it may well be worth the read.

not much to post tonight

Not much to say tonight. I made my delivery in Tobyhanna, PA. but they didn’t have any empty trailers. So I pulled around the corner to a lot and parked for the night, since I am not available to dispatch till around noon local they haven’t sent me a load yet. I really hope they do have something but with this being a holiday weekend I am not counting on it. With no trailer on me though I do have the chance to move to a better place on my own. The new log book system is in the truck so on my next big break I plan to create a new page with all the tech on the truck. Then I can begin talking about it, possibly with pictures if i can get some decent shots of the stuff. So this will be a very short post gonna kick back and load one of my audible books to read me to sleep. Goodnight all and for those traveling on this holiday weekend.

BE WATCHFUL MANY TRAVELERS ARE IN A RUSH AND NOT PAYING THE BEST ATTENTION TO THOSE AROUND THEM.

Short note tonight

Rough day today delivered my load of pallets and had a load going to Arkansas in the queue right up until delivery, then it was cancelled and another load replaced it. Now I get to head for Pennsylvania. The load wasn’t supposed to load till 10 eastern I got there early and they wanted to try and knock it out while they could. I got lucky but the company didn’t, they had another that needed to be picked up and wanted me to try and save it. If the loaders had been even 30 minutes faster I might have pulled it off would have been dropping my first load at Battle Creek and racing back with an empty to Ada MI., for a load by 5 am but with my remaining hours I just couldn’t see a way to do it legally so I called the dispatcher and told him I was sorry, got a big thanks for trying but they didn’t want it done if it couldn’t be legal. That is one of the big reasons I have no plans to leave the company I drive for, Safe and Legal and I can still make money. Anyway to top off my night 15 miles before my fuel stop I had a blow out on the trailer. I crippled in to the fuel stop and called in to emergency maintenance they are scheduling a service truck for in the morning so I can rest for the night and run in the morning.

Apple made an announcement

if you have an iTunes account you probably got an email today from apple. It was a follow up to their live stream announcement that started at 10 am pacific time and lasted about an hour. Some got to watch this stream, some only got to hear it, and then some (me) only got to hear commentary on it as the stream wasnt allowed to be rebroadcast to something I was able to hear out in the hills of Virginia. Big thanks to Leo Laporte and his crew out there in Petaluma at the twit cottage I didn’t miss out. My iPhone happened to have just enough signal that I was able to follow what was going on, almost from the beginning, live via the shift key created app Twit ©. My opinion is this wasn’t really that big. The new iPod touch has become a iPhone 4 with a lower grade camera and no contract. The iPod nano, although the new release is cool, will be a reverting from earlier versions of that line. No more video and no more camera, the one I owned did vid but didnt have the camera, going to a square shape and with the dimensions as I heard them it sounds like it will be a very cool device to own, and possibly what my nephew will be getting from me, though I need to see the device and compare it with other options first before I commit. The touch screen on it and size might make it just the device to carry his music (his mom calls it noise) collection around to enjoy. As for the final ~~thing~~ hobby apple tv has stepped even further from my use. I was hoping for apps and storage and lots of other things in it so I could get what I wanted while connected to wifi services out here on the road and not eat up my Verizon bandwidth just to see a movie on my break. thanks Steve guess I will continue shopping for what I want elsewhere, especially with no more purchase. Rental that streams works great for people that are home every night but us travelers have to be able to buy and store things for use as we are able to get the time to view it. Ok enough from the peanut gallery. Time for me to shut down for the night here. I’m headed for Michigan for an afternoon delivery when I wake up. As always Be Safe

I made it to the shipper and load wasn’t ready. No surprise there, it wasn’t supposed to be, dispatch showed it not to be ready until 10 am but security said to check anyway. Nice facilities here, they have a trailer onsite with washers and dryers, showers, and a microwave oven incase I wanted to clean clothes and myself and nuke some food while I wait. So I decided I would update this a bit before I lay down. I promised Mom I would try and update this a bit more frequently than I would normally do other things since I got her a new computer. Now she can use my blog to keep up with what her son is up to. HI MOM

p.s. Mom this was that picture you wanted to see. When your email starts working right I will actually send you a copy.

Breaks about over

34 hour restart will be complete in just a few minutes. Already received my next load info though, they didn’t pay much attention to my actual location and put me on a load picking up in the morning about 50 miles from where I last delivered. I did request that they notify them about me moving to a decent place to park but that did no good. So about 130 miles to pu and I get paid nothing for it. The load is over 700 miles though up into Michigan so that part wont be so bad, just a simple load of empty pallets

prowl/growl is working so spammers beware I now get notifications on my phone when something happens on the site. Already got my first notice. Out of the blue I get a subscriber, went to check it out and the appearance of the email is possibly spammer like, I hope not but never know. When the user starts posting comments I will know. As of now all comments will be moderated or at a minimum I will be notified that someone made a comment. We’ll see if that can help prevent the problems of last time.

Ok finished updates for tonight getting a package of docs on how to work with WordPress to study. Managed to add a few things in on the site that might be appreciated. Hope you all enjoy as I learn more about what’s possible with this site system I will be adding more functionality to it.
